Welcome
to the homepage of the Experimental Psychology & Personality Lab (formerly the Cognitive Psychology Lab) at the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau*, headed by Prof. Benjamin E. Hilbig. We are part of the Department of Psychology (Campus Landau) and one of its six main labs/units.
In our research, we are concerned with various aspects of human personality, cognition (especially judgment and memory) and social/ethical behavior - spanning and integrating approaches from cognitive/experimental psychology, social psychology, personality, and behavioral economics - supplemented by a focus on formal/statistical modeling. Also, we develop tools and software for other researchers to use, most notably the lab.js Software for building web-based experiments.
In the B.Sc. and M.Sc. psychology programs of the Department of Psychology at Landau Campus we cover all areas of experimental psychology (learning, memory, perception, attention, motivation, emotion, thinking, judgment & decision making, language), and we offer several lab courses and innovative master level courses on programming and conducting independent research, scientific skills, and personality & social behavior.
