Research interests

  • Predictive value of personality (particularly Honesty-Humility from the HEXACO model) for ethical behavior (particularly deceptive behavior)
  • Cheating paradigms
  • Detection of truthful and deceptive messages
  • Truth-bias
  • Differentiation of lying motives (e.g., egoistic vs. altruistic lying)
  • Although not the primary focus of my research, earlier studies have addressed topics such as belief in a just world, just world theory, and mate selection in online dating
